.The Revenue Director is a key member of the accounting leadership team who has overall responsibility for the technical revenue function and will lead the Company s evaluation of the new revenue standard under ASC 606. The Revenue Director will provide technical accounting thought leadership and will provide oversight and guidance to the revenue standard implementation team to allow for timely and effective adoption of the standard. The Revenue Director will be responsible for organizing the technical revenue accounting resources necessary to ensure solid execution for timely adoption. The Revenue Director will partner with Business Operations and IT functions to ensure systems implementations are aligned with business requirements and drive the best outcome for accuracy and scalability. The Revenue Director will have overall responsibility to the business for the evaluation of contracting and pricing strategies and contract negotiations and will act as a key participant in setting the Company s standards for maximization of revenue within the business context and overall revenue accounting framework.

Essential Responsibilities/Objectives
  • Provide leadership and input to the sales and sales operations teams in complying with Company policies and procedures with respect to contracting and pricing protocols and standards
  • Oversee the review of contracts and opportunities for revenue impacts including non-standard terms, cancellation clauses and overall deal economics act as escalation point to the technical revenue team for terms that negatively impact revenue
  • Identify issues that could result in adverse impact to revenue recognition and communicate a balanced view to deal team and executive management for appropriate decision making
  • Provide oversight and review to the creation of revenue policies to define the accounting positions for various revenue streams under the new revenue standard
  • Utilize knowledge of the business and sound judgement to provide various policy considerations and conclusions to management
  • Work with auditors and external service providers to gain acceptance for the policies as written in accordance with the new standard
  • Provide oversight and review of the impact assessment for timely and accurate calculations.
  • Drive the adoption method decision by coordinating with CFO, Investor Relations and executive management to evaluate impact and prepare clear and concise materials to support the decision-making process
  • Manage and guide a team towards overall employee development and technical revenue depth and bench strength
  • Drive the automation of revenue through solid practices and systems
  • Evaluate and hire resources to fulfill overall functional responsibilities
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of authoritative accounting guidance on revenue recognition especially as related to business context
Required skills/experience:
  • Bachelor s degree in finance, accounting or MBA
  • 15+ years overall experience with at least 8 years technical revenue accounting
  • Big 4 public accounting firm combined with industry experience is highly desired (at least 3-5 years in a public accounting firm)
  • CPA certification is a plus
  • Experience with SaaS industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of ASC 605 and ASC 606
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of SaaS-related GAAP revenue forecasting, modeling, and analysis
  • Operational revenue and overall order to cash process experience a plus
  • Experience with software packages including Workday, SalesForce.Com and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Executive presence with ability to communicate complex and ambiguous topics in a clear manner
  • Ability to apply complex and ambiguous technical accounting literature to real-world business cases and draw strong conclusion
  • Ability to navigate uncertain territory, and determine novel approaches to complex problems, and quickly execute upon strategies
  • Ability to set a plan in place and recognize when adjustments are necessary stay on plan, including the need to re-balance work efforts or streamline tasks to meet objectives
  • Strategic thinking applied to practical situations
