Payroll Manager

E-commerce Company in the heart of San Francisco seeks an experienced Payroll Manager to join their team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the candidate will have the ability to create structured payroll processes and to execute on deadlines.

Responsibilities:

Effectively execute all aspects of payroll processing (including expense reporting via Concur) for multi-state employee payroll to ensure that accuracy, compliance and outstanding service goals are consistently met

Take ownership of company s payroll systems, maintaining appropriate earnings and deduction codes, employee information and assisting in systems integrations

Serve as the primary contact for resolving employee and management payroll related inquiries, providing a high level of customer service

Ensure payroll operations are conducted per the company s internal procedures and maintain/develop appropriate documentation for payroll processes

Serve as the primary Finance team member in coordination with HR to onboard new employees

Maintain compliance with relevant federal, state and local laws and regulations, including assisting in annual 401k, workers compensation, and other compliance projects

Perform journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis for payroll related activities and balances

Assist in processing of certain stock compensation activity

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience

Experience with ADP TotalResource preferred

General understanding and experience posting stock option transactions (ESPP, ISO)

Demonstrated knowledge of California and Federal Labor laws, pay practices and policies experience preferred

Understanding of employee 401K plans and limitations, incentive/bonus offerings, wage support and garnishment orders

Outstanding organizational skills with the capacity to multitask and efficiently plan and prioritize to ensure all deadlines are met with a high-quality work product

Process driven with the ability to build structure to payroll processes

Strong work ethic and ability to be productive and successful in a fast-paced work environment

Working knowledge of Excel
