Senior Accounts Payable Accountant

Bay Area based Commercial and Residential Real Estate firm seeks a Sr Accounts Payable Accountant to cover a 6 month maternity leave beginning in October.
The AP Accountant will be primarily responsible for ensuring transactions and projects are completed accurately and on a timely basis in support of the accounting operations for the organization, which include multiple legal entities. The ideal candidate is a team player, who has solid accounting skills, a standard of excellence and a can-do attitude. S/He must be a self-starter, who pays keen attention to detail and has the ability to adapt to changing priorities, all while working quickly and meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities include:
Manage the processing of accounts payable including research, coding and posting of payments, check-runs and gaining appropriate signatures
Assist with the implementation and conversion to paperless invoicing system using Yardi PayScan
Ensure expenditures are in compliance with approval limits for each entity
Interact with other departments and vendors to reconcile outstanding invoices and payment related activity
Review and maintain process for timely and correct calculations and payments of property taxes and insurance for properties in multiple legal entities
Prepare and analyze job costs for ongoing projects in the organization
Properly account for mortgages and report on related activity
Prepare and file Year End 1099 s in a timely manner
Assist with accounting projects such as research of payables, mortgages and balance sheet reconciliations
Assist with month and year end closings and other related duties as assigned
Perform general administrative duties including organizing and maintaining accurate files and records, scanning of invoices to accounting software etc.
- High volume Accounts Payable experience (500 invoices weekly)
- Real Estate/Development/Construction Industry (familiarity with CAM, construction/development job costing, etc.)
- Able to commit for 6 months (October start)
