Job Description
Our client is hiring a Vice President, Revenue, to provide leadership, oversight and strategic direction for the Revenue team. He or she will execute best practices, achieve efficiencies, and align the Company s strategic goals, financial plan, and finance key performance indicators (KPIs). The VP of Revenue will possess strong technical and operational skills, and business acumen. He or she will influence the cross functional teams to set revenue policy, practices, and procedures, and continue the build-out of a high-performance revenue team. He or she will also work across business functions to provide revenue recognition guidance and solve complex business problems.
Strong technical revenue accounting skills with business sense are a fundamental component of the revenue foundation. A second fundamental component is operational skills. Demonstrated good judgment, critical thinking, and risk management that result in successful problem solving are required. The third component of the foundation is the ability to lead the revenue team and communicate across the organization in both written and verbal forms.
  • Build strong business relationships and provide revenue recognition guidance to Sales and Legal during negotiation process to ensure contracting structure is in line with corporate financial objectives
  • Enable business to solve complex business problems by influencing deal structure and pricing
  • Lead cross functional Quote-to-Cash team on driving business process improvements
  • Enable new product introductions by providing revenue recognition guidance and operationalizing the new products in the Quote-to-Cash process
  • Collaborate with FP&A on revenue forecast
  • Provide executive leadership to transition the Company from ASC 605 to ASC 606
  • Ensure accurate revenue reporting and efficient revenue close process
  • Foster an organization on continuous process improvement to achieve scalability through standardization, automation and optimization
  • Build strong working relationships with the external auditors to ensure revenue accounting is consistent and compliant with GAAP
  • Develop and perform training within Finance and cross-functionally for revenue considerations relevant to the audience
  • Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and operating effectively

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting
  • CPA with Big 4 experience
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership roles in accounting with at least 10 years of experience in revenue
  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible
  • Strong communication skills, including establishing credibility, trust and influential relationships with cross functional teams
  • Proven success maintaining positive attitude while handling multiple (and sometimes competing) priorities and leading projects with significant change management requirements
  • Strong technical GAAP accounting skills with concentration on ASC 605-25
  • Solid knowledge of differences between ASC 605 and ASC 606
  • Passion for leading a team and developing talent
  • Strong drive to achieve goals while working effectively with cross-functional teams
