Accounting Manager Research and Development
The Accounting Manager will perform and oversee all close procedures related to clinical trials and other R&D activities. The accounting manager will team with FP&A and third party vendors to monitor the status of key contracts and account for all costs associated with clinical, preclinical and manufacturing spend.
Role Profile: o Work with FP&A and program teams to understand the detailed budgets and strategic direction of clinical, preclinical and manufacturing activities. O Accountable for the timely, accurate completion of monthly close procedures for R&D activities (e.G. Monitor contract schedules and timelines, review journal entries for accruals, prepare journal entries for complex transactions). O Review the financial terms and accounting treatment for all new contracts, work orders and change orders and forecast GAAP expenses to determine monthly accrual entries. O Prepare monthly reporting of R&D cost trends. Summarize key activities driving monthly and quarterly fluctuations by program. O Serve as primary contact point for financial statement and ICOFR audit inquires/requests. O Manage the clinical trial SOX process (update narrative documentation, key control identification/refinement, develop and/or enhance control set to address business/financial reporting risks). O Provide ad hoc support for technical accounting issues associated with non recurring, significant transactions.

We Seek Candidates With the Following Qualifications: o Bachelor' s degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA o Minimum of 5 years professional experience with 2 3 years in public accounting strongly preferred; o Life science (pharmaceutical, biotech or CRO) experience heavily preferred o Must possess strong finance skills, analytical ability, and solid business acumen o Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and handle simultaneous assignments under tight deadlines and in a fast paced environment o Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across organizations and utilize resources effectively o Excellent verbal and written communication skills o Financial experience supporting clinical trials in a pharmaceutical or biotech company or another CRO preferred
